Hey all

I'm in LA today, FT Worth tomorrow and Thursday, and then will be with many of you guys in Vegas from Friday.

I met a guy today who knows the site well. He's a volunteer at the Western Museum of Flight in Hawthorne near LAX, and was of great assistance in allowing me to rummage through the archives there and borrow some images and information for my book. He mentioned he had previously corresponded with Joerg and Peter Merlin.

The museum is well worth a visit, especially if you like model airplanes and obscure paraphenalia the larger museums don't seem to have. They have one of the two YF-17s, an F-14, one of the two YF-23s (currently on loan to Northrop Grumman until early next year), a DC-3, an F-86F as well as various engines, drones and other exhibits. There are also cool T-shirts and video/DVDs available for sale.

Their site is http://www.wmof.com

See y'all soon.
