Thanks for the URLs. Beautiful photography on the Edwards shots. It all confirms that what we saw didn't look like a typical meteor. Your observation that we might have been near the entry point rings true. While the meteor must have been close, it appeared to me to be at, minimum, the altitude a small plane or helicopter might cruise at -- but I'm a bad judge of distance.

Looking at a map, I'd guess it disappeared in the Edwards vicinity, maybe a little north. Could it have been something manmade being tested? That sounds stupid, but the lack of fireball or much of a trail makes me wonder.
