He was following the final leg in the Spanish Trail of some expedition, name I can't remember. He couldn't get permission from the Air Force so he went in alone, so he says. I don't believe he got near Area 51, I think most of his trek was in the southern portion of NTS. He entered in the south and exited the same place or near the same place he went in. There is a nice copy of his daily diary he kept while on this trek on the internet but I can't find it right now. If you read it, you will find it amazing that he was not caught or died by some of the events that happened while on this trek.
