On a credibility scale from 0 to 10, I would give that article a solid .05 _at best_ :-)! The author (Schratt) has a record of wild claims for which all available "proof" is effectively his own word. (e.g. http://www.ufowisconsin.com/news/flyingsaucers.html)

In this case, Schratt quotes his source only as a "former SR-71 pilot". Why doesn't he quote his name? It can't be "protection", because the USAF would know anyway, who was involved in the alleged incident in 1979!

Apart from that, the story itself has a few holes:
- There's no way that a private plane can "shadow" a top secret aircraft for 10 minutes(!), unless Groom Lake ground control were completely asleep! The quoted distance of 100 ft is ridiculously low, too.
- The ventral fin is described as folding to "allow clearance for landing". How is the witness supposed to know this? He didn't watch the plane land.
- A high-performance jet with verticals shaped like on a B-17?!? Gimme a break!

There are other indications that the author doesn't really know what he is taling about, but I'm too lazy to write it all up right now.
