That is interesting. What is really interesting to me is the statement that the money is for prototypes. Could be some sort of systems development, not the final missile. The link posted is to the DARPA site that describes the goals of FALCON.

"The FALCON (formerly HyperSoar) program objectives are to develop and demonstrate technologies that will enable both near-term and far-term capability to execute time-critical, global reach missions."

That's DARPA speak for a very high speed cruise missile. It is also interesting how FALCON technology seems to fit the new high speed/loiter/recon/strike cruise missile discussed in the post "New black aircraft development".

A Google search turns up lots of stuff on FALCON.
