Geocache Problems on Tikaboo

Hi all,

I hid a geocache on Tikaboo last week (under a pile of rocks just inches west of the main benchmark) and I've just been notified by geocaching.com that they won't post it.

Apparently geocaches can not be hidden far away from where the 'owner' lives as the geocache must be regularly 'maintained'. Since I live in Los Angeles and make about one trip to Tikaboo a year, I am not able to 'maintain' the cache in a way that is appropriate to geocaching.com.

But, we can still have fun with it within the Dreamland community. Even though it is not listed on the geocaching.com website for all the world to see, anyone on this site can find it, sign the log, and replace items in it.

Or, if there is anyone from Rachel or Alamo or Las Vegas that makes regular trips to the area, maybe they could transfer 'ownership' to them and thus have the cache listed on geocaching.com.

Take care, and have fun exploring!

Jason
