I saw the same model you saw (yes it is actually pretty big) at a tech expo earlier this year. One of the project scientists was there talking to people... not saying much either. From the sound of what he was saying when people asked WHY he couldn't talk, both the research that all of this is fueling on and the payload that this test vehicle is engineered towards have some outside of nasa interest. But then again, there's no telling if this payload vehicle and test isn't just a method of getting the technology out into the white world without declassifying something already working. Not that anyone ever looks down the page this far.
