You can make it on both Groom Lake Road (almost 14 miles dirt road) and North Gate Road near Rachel (10 miles dirt road). The roads are well maintained, but you are looking at a long dusty ride on loose dirt. I am riding myself, and I can tell you that it is no fun on a cruiser...

If you decide to give it a try, check our maps section for directions. I would prefer the North Gate Road, where you will actually see a guard shack and gate.

For skywatching its an easy 20-mile ride down the highway to the Black Mailbox. Watch out for cows in the road at night. Enjoy the ride...
