Hello ! In regards to the excellent time line posted for Groom Lake operations, I was wondering if anyone could answer the following questions: In the entries for December 1959 and September 1960 the time line states that on several instances aircraft and personnel from both NASA and the AFFTC were denied access to the Groom operations area. It would seem that both of these organizations would have the highest levels of access to whatever facility or resources they wanted. Additionally, the X-15 flights described must surely have enjoyed the same high level of support. My question is then: Who or what organization was in such a position of authority that they could deny Groom range access to both NASA and the US Air Force ?
