I don't personally know anyone involved in Operation Bluebook, but there is a kind of interesting connection between that and Groom/Watertown/Area 51.

It turns out that a bunch of the UFO signtings in Bluebook were actually U-2s (tested and pilots were trained at Groom). The U2s would fly high enough that they would be in the sun, while people on the ground would be in the night. So, the sun would reflect off the airplanes, and people 'down below' would see weird lights in the night sky and report them.

Even more interesting is that the CIA/Air Force KNEW that people were seeing U2s and reporting them as UFOs, but the plane was classified and they didn't tell the AF people responsible for investigating the sightings... so, the AF investigators came up with all kinds of other explanations for those sightings... kind of a mild version of 'disinformation.'

The CIA basically admitted this a few years ago when they made public a document called "the CIA and the U2 program", which is as interesting for what's redacted as it is for what's visible in the document.

You can get the CIA document from their website, in the FOIA "reading room."
