I've seen sound weapon on a.c.area51, but there is real research on such weapons. I got a tip on such a research project going on in the flats of Berkeley and found a related paper delivered at a Livermore Labs "directed energy" weapons symposium. Of course, reality may differ from theory, and your milegage may vary.

I do think the siren at the guard shack might be a real possibility if the person who heard the horn said it sounded faint. This would have been a good situation to see if the activity on the Groom Lake trunk radio system picked up.
