I made my first (and second) trip out Groom Lake Road way in April. It was a pretty amazing experience. Nothing too unusual happened and it was a pretty standard “tourist” trip out there. I did see something though and I do not know what it was. When I got to Groom Lake Road, I pulled over to the side and got out, pretty much next to 375. I was maybe 30 feet down the road. I wanted to get a few pics of the road as it went straight out to the horizon. It’s a fantastic view! Anyway, off to the right side of the road I saw a black rubber looking thing kind of half buried there. It was maybe 4 inches across, round, and almost flush with the road. I thought it might have been a road sensor but didn’t seem to look like the ones I have seen pictures of. There was no wire sticking up. Could have been garbage but didn’t really look like that either. I kicked it and it seemed pretty firmly in place. Any ideas?
