Can they detect scanners? Anyhow we weren't being stealthy at all, assuming that big brother would be watching. The 4x4 was parked visibly and we were in high-vis Alpine gear. The chopper departed and came straight towards us so unless it normally flies that route I think it was interested in us (livens up a dull day and they could be in the Middle East).
