Groom has a VOR (117.5MHZ). It uses MCY as the ID, but the real MCY only has a NDB. It can be heard if you park at the gravel by the ET Highway (with a good antenna), from the power line overlook, and of course from Tikaboo. You can look at the various panoramic photos and see things that might be a VOR, but nothing very definitive. VORs don't have to be at the airport.

Perhaps someone who has used an aviation radio can tell us if the navigation display on such a radio is useful in finding the VOR location.

As a side note, the NDB at Basecamp actually identifies itself as "basecamp".
