I just bought a 2052 two weeks ago on Ebay.It has 20 banks of 50 channels.1000 channels is a ton as Iam finding out.I may be way over gunned here but I needed a new table top set and for the price I couldnt beat it. Also Phoenix is getting ready to switch to trunk tracking. Radio shack used to sell them for $289.00.Mine was $150.00 in like new condition.It is continuous coverage and is a trunk tracker. I wont bother to explain trunk tracker as it seems that this is your first scanner and your primary interest is milair freqs. This is a base unit as opposed to a hand held. You can mount it in a vehicle and plug it in the cigarette lighter, but if you want to leave the vehicle and hike around this is not the one for you.
