You can drive all the way up to the barrier. The fence about 1/4 mile before does not mark the boundary. You can drive past it.

There is a double-barrier across the road, and a second fence marking the boundary. As long as you do not cross the outer barrier or the second fence, you are safe. I have never been bothered by security there. In fact they tend to stay inside the guard shack as long as there are people outside the fence watching them.
