I have been up there a few times, although never at the mine itself. Take the dirt road leading SW from the Hwy between mile marker 20 and 19. Follow the main road until you get close to the mine. It gets a little tricky there. Best to have a topo map and GPS for orientation. The hill NW of the mine would be a good view spot for Red Flag.

Access requires 4WD high-clearance. The road used to continue on to the north gate road, but I understand it has been washed out on the north side of the Groom Range and is no longer passable.
