McCarran is definately too busy for T&G's. I'm not sure about TTR or the Ranch but it could be interference with other project scheduling. As I stated, most T&G's are done at airports with very little traffic if possible. I think the Gov't. contracts for a certain amount of annual usage of Palmdale and may not use it all. Every take off and landing generates more (Gov't) revenue support for the Palmdale facility, which needs it. dog
Some other examples - the Illinois ANG used to do T&G's at Rockford, Illinois when they flew C-130's out of O'Hare. Rockford had very little traffic in those days. The AF does T&G's at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma (Army) with T-38's from Sheppard AFB because of no traffic.
