I watched a Janet or two land at the operation near Groom Lake on the night of October 27th. I saw the two large Janet terminal lights go on, but not the runway lights. I discussed this a bit with Chuck Clark. He had a few theories why I couldn't see the runway lights, which I hope he will follow up to this message.

It was quite a pain in the rear end to hear that the winds were calm on both the tower frequency and the VOR, while I was in a nasty wind storm on the top of Tikaboo.

BTW, with the wind and cloud cover, it never got colder than 7 deg Celcius at the base, so I would guess the temp on Tikaboo was in the high 30's deg Farenheit. The wind chill factor would be another story.....
